We stayed 5 nights at this lovely Bed & Breakfast and had the privilege of seeing quetzals 4 times right from the property. The owners have created beautiful gardens with avocado trees to attract the birds. The network of trails surrounding the lodge offers stunning views of the cloud forest and leads into Tapanti National Park. The innkeeper's vast knowledge of the local nature and ecosystems added to the experience. The breakfast and dinners were delicious and reasonably priced. The location, nestled between Los Quetzales and Tapanti National Parks, is perfect for nature lovers.
We can recommend this hotel.

During my recent stay at a hotel in a cloud forest, I had a fantastic experience! One of the best aspects of the hotel was its convenient location. It was easily accessible by bus, making it perfect for travelers like me who rely on public transportation. the hotel had a beautiful trail network through the forest, allowing me to explore the stunning nature that surrounded the area. I was amazed by the huge trees, vibrant flowers, and diverse birdlife that I encountered on my walks.
there was a lack of filtered drinking water available at the hotel. This was a bit inconvenient, as I had to remember to bring my own water or purchase it elsewhere.

During my Christmas stay, I absolutely loved the cozy mountain hut-style accommodation at this hotel. It had a rustic charm and the blankets provided kept me warm on the chilly nights. The location, nestled in the cloud forest, was perfect for nature lovers like me. I was able to explore the nearby hiking trails right from the hotel and even spotted tapir tracks. The homemade breakfast and dinner offered by the passionate owners were delicious, and the roaring fireplace in the evening added to the cozy atmosphere.
One drawback I experienced was the cold temperatures at night, so I recommend bringing warm clothing or even keeping your jacket on inside. Additionally, the showers didn't get warmer than room temperature, which was a bit unpleasant.

They prepared delicious meals and even dropped us off at the bus stop. the lodge is surrounded by stunning views of mountains and volcanoes, with plenty of hiking trails and beautiful gardens to explore. the cozy fireplace in the common room was a great place to relax and chat with other guests. I also loved the big windows in the dining room that allowed us to enjoy the view while we ate. the rooms were well-equipped with blankets to keep us warm. the highlight of our stay was spotting a Quetzal from our window in the morning. I highly recommend this lodge for those seeking a rustic and cozy atmosphere. Can't think of anything 🤷.

As backpackers, we stayed at Iyok Ami for 5 nights and had an incredible experience. The location is perfect for nature enthusiasts, with its own trails and easy access to national parks. Daniel, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and provide helpful information. The owners have created a beautiful garden that attracts the Resplendent Quetzal, which we were able to spot multiple times during our stay. The lodge offers a lodge-like experience at hostel prices, with friendly bilingual hosts and a laid back atmosphere. The breakfast and dinners were delicious, and the tap water was safe to drink. one of the best places we've ever stayed at!
